So I was a bit mystified when I kept seeing words in the promos about Neale Donald Walsch as he is a favorite of mine. (I pick up the "Conversations with God" book all the time and read it again and again!) But I saw nothing about him with this book (I thought someone, or a bot, had him confused with co-author Kelly Walsh!)... until I received it! There he was, right at the beginning telling of his own experiences in his own wonderful inimitable prose (lucidity, solemnity, and a dash of humor here and there!). I kept on reading, and I kept on, and I had no idea how much time had passed. I couldn't stop... Touching stories, powerful sharing... See, I have some serious health issues and reading this gave me some great reassurances that I will be okay, no matter what happens! My parents, older siblings, and too many friends have all passed on and I take comfort in knowing they are at great peace. This is one I'll go back to again and again, too! Thank you, Penny and Kelly, and Neale, and all others involved in bringing this book into creation!
We all have wondered if our departed loved ones are at peace, and if we will be, too as we face our mortality. This book of testimonies from all walks of life and around the world, puts aside any doubts of eternal peace, love and well being. This was such fantastic book. NDE's people are messengers. All have the common thread of the love that was felt. It is an indescribable love without judgement of any kind. This book brings comfort to this soul that is in constant search of the truth. Having worked in hospice nearly 20 years now, the book confirmed what I felt about my patients. I have had many spiritually transformative experiences (STE's) and Out of body experiences (OBE's) where I have felt a love like what was described by the NDE's. There is no denying that a divine love waits for us but also surrounds us constantly even though we cannot feel it, just know it is definitely there. Read the book it will change your perspective and bring you to your own peace about dying.
I'd purchased this book with some reticence as I had not heard of these authors. I've read many books about Near Death Experiences (NDE's), most of them compelling. Quite a few were based upon scientific studies.It took me a few chapters to get hooked on this book, and then I could barely put it down.Each chapter is devoted to one individual's NDE (except for a chapter on the shared NDE), and each is related in a way that opens us to a new paradigm of love and peace. I am comforted knowing that each NDE experience referenced was unique, and yet there were similarities that seem to bind them together. Having read these experiences, one gets a sense of the inter-related connectivity of every one and every thing. The Love that the NDEr's experienced, certainly transcends creeds of all major religious faiths. There is no doubt for me that such experiences are real, not a hallucination, as some doubters may say. Reading about others experiences was quite rewarding and has also increased my personal faith in God and the belief that every life holds a God-given plan.We are beings of Light...I had found that out in my own Out of Body Experience (OBE) in 2010.In addition, this book provides a frame of reference that is transformative in that, by removing, or lessening the fear of death, we are able to live more authentically when we know that even in our most difficult struggles, in the end, there is nothing to fear.*Just a note--I am the Author of Braving Time, A Memoir.
I love all the different people's experiences. The best part is what they learned and how that knowledge impacted their lives. I've read at least a hundred books on this subject and this is one of the better ones.
I love reading NDE stories. I've read so many books by those who've gone to the other side that I already knew a few of the stories in the book. Still, it was fine to reread them and great to read new ones. The editor/author's thoughts after each story were superfluous as far as I was concerned, but bless her for putting the stories together. The book is not long enough to justify the full price.
One of the better books I've read about NDE's and the after effects it had on their lives. There's a lot of material in here to take in. Despite so many of them still having such a difficult life afterwards they embraced life with joy and purpose that amazed me. I really felt it was a must Have book after reading it.
Excellent collection of NDE’s and their transformative powers. I have read maybe 40 books on this subject and consider myself a fair student of this phenomena. Very honestly written and presented.
